Venezia, 1485.
If pressed, he would have said that he had seen it coming... but in reality, he didn't. He had known she was following him, but he didn't know where she was, exactly. He probably should have been paying attention to that; Rosa had gotten the drop on him, and he had gone from running across rooftops to being shoved down against the tiled Venetian rooftops in seconds flat. For a moment, he felt a little slighted –– he never liked LOSING ––but when she knelt down over him and started frisking him, he was happy to admit defeat.
"You're playful tonight," he said, letting her fish through his clothing, eyeing her the entire time. If they weren't occasional lovers, he wouldn't have dared. "Couldn't wait until we finished the game?"
"Where's the flag?" she demanded, still rifling through his pockets.
"I don't have it," he said, bluntly. "Tèo has it. He took it just before you started chasing me."
She let out an annoyed sound and removed her hand from his pants. She stood up, hands on her hips, and turned her attention to the rooftops around them. The flag could have changed hands again and she wouldn't even know it; the game would likely be over before she could track down the player. Ezio just stayed where he was, though he propped himself up on his elbows.
"So competitive! Do you search every player so closely?" he asked.
She pivoted just enough to look down at him, and he watched a mischievous smile cross her face.
"I didn't think so," he said, letting just a touch of teasing slip into his voice. He pushed himself up to sit, grinning under that hood, and waved a hand at her. "Go get that flag. I'll meet up with you later."
"If I win," Rosa replied, stepping over his legs to get by him, "then tonight, you have to do everything I say."
He laughed, a hand over his heart. When he looked up, his hood fell back just enough that they could make eye-contact, for a brief second. There was a mutual tension in that look, and in his imagination, he was getting "bossed around" already.
"I'll hope for your victory, then," he said.
