Paradisa, unknown.

Ezio leaned in close, the tip of his nose brushing against hers. His warm brown eyes gazed into her blue eyes, at once both intense and challenging. The kind of magnitude that drew people to him, irresistibly, and the same conviction that made it impossible for people to turn away.

Lucrezia was no different. She smiled, almost a bit mischievous, biting her lower lip.

"What are you up to, Mr. Auditore?" she asked. "You are quite close right now."

"Take a bath with me," he said, invitingly, and she giggled.

"Is that appropriate? Baths are for getting clean, and maintaining one's beauty."

"As long as we're not intruding on any bathing nymphs, I don't see why we couldn't do a more than just that," he replied.

"Well, what if I am a nymph?" Lucrezia replied, playfully, reached for Ezio's hand, fingers twining with his.

Ezio leant in to kiss her, and she met him half-way. For a moment they kissed, Lucrezia shifting closer to press her body against his, and his free hand roved down her back.

"Then Diana is going to be very upset with you, dear Callisto," Ezio murmured, teasing, as they broke apart. Lucrezia laughed.

"I don't know that story," she said. "Will you tell it to me?"

"So many questions," he chided. "Come bathe with me, and I shall tell you."

Lucrezia slipped from his arms and rose to her feet, her hand still clasping his. He went with her, with a grin.

Diana's most favoured, once, but favour lasts not long.

"Do you think me like Callisto?" Lucrezia asked, contemplative. She didn't seem outwardly sad, to Ezio's eyes, but he did feel that he'd perhaps overlooked the metaphor and trod on her feelings as a result.

Ezio sank deeper into the bath, his hand running up her thigh, under the water, and then back down again.

"No," he said, "I only know two stories about bathing nymphs, mia bella, and you are not a Salmacis. But your story certainly will not end as Callisto's did. Your wicked Jove will retire alone, eventually."

She seemed to disappear into thought, quiet for a few long minutes, the only sound between them the quiet slosh of water. Ezio let it hang, watching her.

"I would sooner be Daphne, I think," she replied. "Sometimes I think it would be nice to be a tree, instead of a prize."

Ezio just nodded, and reached for her with open arms. She chanced a small smile and moved into his arms, and he pressed a kiss to her neck.

"Better Daphne than Caenis," he replied, "or worse, Byblis."

She didn't reply. She just ran her fingers through his hair, face hidden from him, and instead he focused on greater feelings.
